2025 marks the 120th anniversary of Century Next Bank. Each month, members of our team will share something special about the banking industry. Today we are sharing a message from Bill Hogan, our President and CEO.
We sat down with Bill Hogan to look back our bank’s history through the lenses of leadership and corporate culture. Bill is a true leader who has navigated our team with integrity, humility, and the ability to evaluate business risks all while keeping a strong sense of empathy for our community.
What do you believe has been the bank's greatest achievement over the years?
- The involvement that we have in the communities that we serve. It’s who we are. Our involvement or connection with various groups, events, and charities shapes who we are.
Can you think of any defining moments in our bank’s history that we should highlight?
- Converting from a mutual to a stock bank in 2010 began the trajectory we are on now. Prior to that would be surviving the Savings and Loan Crisis in the 1980’s. Locally and nationally, S&L banks were closing at a rapid pace. We had a solid board of directors and management team that kept the bank on the right path.
What values or traits have defined our employees and leadership over time?
- We are quality people - caring people - and we have a servant’s heart for our customers and our community.
What do you hope people will say about the bank?
- That we care about each other and the communities our markets serve. We are honorable and trustworthy.
Do you have a favorite memory or moment from your time leading the bank?
- The first thing that comes to mind is the merger - the merger with First National Bank of Crossett.
It was a great achievement, but why that memory?
- It was pulling two bank families together and serving a larger area together. That’s pretty awesome. We were like-minded in culture, community outreach, and how we treated each other. We were a fit from day one.
Last question- What does this bank mean to you personally?
- It’s my happy place. I love everybody here and I love my job. Century Next is a special bank- everyone here wants to be here. That’s hard to beat.
