Shazam Fraud Monitoring

Monday, October 3, 2022

The Electronic Banking Department, is pleased to share that our partner Shazam has an -800 number that CNext customers can call 24/7 to inquire about a denied debit card transaction. Even if you’re shopping online at 2am on Saturday night, you can call the number to inquire about a denied transaction.

This number 1-866-508-2693 is for Shazam’s Fraud Department. If you, as a CNext customer, have a denied transaction but you did not receive a fraud alert, you can call this number to inquire about the decline. If the denial is due to suspicious fraudulent activity and you confirm the charge is legitimate, Shazam’s fraud team can override the decline for that specific merchant for 24 hours. This will allow you to successfully complete the transaction once you attempt it again. Note: the Fraud Department can only assist you with declines on transactions blocked for suspicious activity.

Example: Joe was shopping online more than usual for his wife’s birthday. Because his activity was unusual, one of his transactions was denied as potentially fraudulent. Joe called the hotline at 1-866-508-2693 and confirmed that the transaction was correct. Shazam unblocked the transaction, Joe ran his card again, and his wife’s new gift was on its way.

Stop and save this handy number now: 1-866-508-2693

If you have any questions about this new Shazam 24/7 hotline, please contact our Electronic Banking Department for assistance at 1-866-454-9228.
