We are closely monitoring fraudulent debit card transaction attempts at Walmart.com. We understand that this merchant does not verify the address or CVV code associated with debit cards, making it easier for fraudsters to make purchases using random debit card numbers and card expiration dates until they finally get a match and the card works for them.
Due to the large number of fraudulent transactions we've had, we have placed a temporary block on purchases to Walmart.com. We are actively working with our card processor to make adjustments so that we can open this merchant back up for purchases, but that our fraud detection program will block transactions that are truly fraudulent.
We regret that this has caused an inconvenience, and assure you that we are taking this measure to protect your cards from being compromised. For customers using PayPal as the payment method, your Walmart.com transactions should not be affected. We will notify you as soon as the block has been lifted.
