Visa Secure: an additional authentication process

At Century Next Bank, keeping your account safe and secure is our highest priority. That’s why we, along with our debit card processor SHAZAM, will implement an additional authentication process known as Visa Secure to protect your debit card from unauthorized use. Visa Secure is a fraud prevention tool used by online merchants to verify that the shopper is the actual cardholder and not a fraudster! Effective August 8, 2023, you will be required to perform an additional security step when using your CNext debit card when making online purchases with participating e-commerce merchants. What Changes are Coming? When you make a purchase with an online merchant who participates in Visa Secure, you will see the SHAZAM logo on the checkout screen, and the transaction will go through a risk-based authentication process. As the cardholder, you will be asked to identify yourself by entering a One-Time Passcode (OTP) which you will receive via text message at the time of purchase (standard text messaging fees may apply). When you receive the OTP, simply enter this code on the checkout screen, and the transaction will proceed. If an invalid OTP is entered in the checkout screen, the transaction will not be authenticated, and the transaction will not complete. If three (3) consecutive invalid OTPs are entered into the checkout screen, your card will be blocked at all Visa Secure participating e-commerce merchants. You will still be able to use your debit card with non-Visa Secure merchants. To unblock your card for Visa Secure participants, please contact Century Next Bank. What Do I Need to Do? Texts with OTP will be sent to the cell phone number that we have on file for you. In order to assist with uninterrupted online transactions, please ensure that we have your current contact information on file. We suggest that you review your contact information in Online Banking or call or visit your local branch to confirm that your contact information is up to date. Transactions for Visa Secure participants will not process unless your correct contact information is on file.
